Sandra Kay Lebert, Age 75. Beloved Wife, Mom, Grandma, Great Grandma and Friend to many, passed away July 27th , 2019.
Sandra Kay White was born on November 7 th , 1943 in Des Moines, Iowa to Donald C. and Dorothy L. (Ayers) White. Her family moved from Mason City, Iowa when she was starting the 5th grade. She graduated from Waseca Central High School in 1962. She married David M. Lau on August 25th , 1962. She and David lived in Farmington, New Prague and Faribault before moving back to Waseca, MN where she raised her sons. While in Waseca, she worked at Birds Eye, Waseca Senior High School and the City of Waseca. David passed away after a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis. Sandy married Ron Lebert in 1982. They lived in Kasson, MN with Ron's sons, Chad and Steven, and while there they hosted three foreign exchange students and were foster parents for several children over a number of years before moving to Rochester, MN. While living in Rochester, she held positions with Christ United Methodist Church, Dodge County Social Services, Olmsted County Social Services, Suburban Propane and Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Rochester.
As a spouse, mother, grandmother or friend, Sandy was someone who would listen with empathy, not judgement, advise with kindness and without belittlement while helping us find the truth in ourselves. Sandy was a woman of many talents and interests, and especially enjoyed doing counted cross stitch, knitting, crocheting, playing cards and spending time with her husband, their family and friends. They enjoyed time together at their townhouse in Bella Vista, Arkansas as well as summers in Motley, Minnesota.
She is survived by her husband Ron, her sons, Scott (Jinette) Lau and Todd (Lisa) Lau, step-sons, Chad (Jane) Lebert and Steven (Jami) Lebert, grandchildren Jake Lau, Alison (Lau) Manthei, Jenna (Lau) Millner, Erin Lau, Logan Lebert, Tyler Lebert, Christopher Lebert and Caden Lebert. Also surviving Sandy is her sister, Donna (Joel) Duffina, sister-in-law Bonnie White and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her first husband David, her stillborn daughter, Kimberly Anne Lau, granddaughter Bailey Marie Lau, her parents Donald and Dorothy, her brother Steven White and her sister Stephanie White.
Visitation Wednesday, July 31 at 10:30, with a Celebration of Life to follow at Noon at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, the family invites you to join them for a lunch following the service.
Memorials are preferred to Gloria Dei Lutheran Church 1212 12 th Ave. NW, Rochester, MN 55901.
