Scott Allen Nash, 52, of Red Wing, died suddenly of natural causes while at work on Monday, November 13, 2023. He was born October 29, 1971 in Red Wing to Luke and Muriel Nash. He graduated from Red Wing Central High School, class of 1990. He then went to Rochester Community and Technical College for carpentry. After graduating from his program, he went to work as a prison guard in Appleton, Minn. He also worked security at the Mayo Clinic, Red Wing and then for Park Nicollet in the Twin Cities. He also worked for Suburban Portables.
Scott loved hunting and fishing. He was a huge sports fan, especially hockey and loved playing fantasy football. He was a good-hearted friend whose family was very important to him. He had a knack for remembering his friend’s and family’s special days and making sure they received a nice text. He was a proud uncle to Luke and Alexa.
He is survived by his sister, Jody Nash of Red Wing; sister-in-law, Lynnette Nash of Mantorville; niece, Alexa Nash and nephew, Luke B. Nash; uncle, Jim Nash; aunts, Linda (Dick) Brunkhorst and Mary Nash; as well as many cousins and special friends, Missy Stewart and Steve Wood.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Luke M. Nash and Muriel Weber; step-father, Bill Weber; brother, Luke G. Nash; and other aunts, uncles and cousins.
Memorial service will be 1 p.m., Saturday, November 25, 2023 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m., Friday, November 24, 2023 and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Burnside Cemetery at a later date as well as a celebration of life.
