Sharon Kay (Hall) Zahn

Sharon Zahn, age 79, of Oronoco, Minnesota passed away on September 8, 2021 of heart disease and diabetes.  Sharon was born on May 20, 1942 in Waterloo, Iowa to Richard “Dick” and Esther (Ackerman) Hall.  She graduated from East Waterloo High School in June of 1960.  On July 21, 1962, Sharon married Walter Zahn and moved to Rochester.  In June of 1967 they moved to Oronoco where they have resided ever since.  Throughout the years, Sharon and Walter have enjoyed camping, bowling, snowmobiling, card clubs and many activities with their families.

Surviving Sharon are her husband of 59 years, Walter;  her sons Bryan (Tracy) Zahn of Inver Grove Heights, MN and Erik Zahn of Elgin, MN;  grandchildren Katey (Billy Schweiger), Eagan and Shawn Zahn of Inver Grove Heights and great- granddaughters Madelyn (Maddy) and Anna Schweiger.  Also surviving are siblings Barbara (Donald) Ward of Des Moines, IA, Max (Dotty) Hall of Brooklyn, IA and Patrick (Cair) Hall of Brooklyn Park, MN;  many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews, all of whom are much loved.

Sharon is preceded in death by her parents;  her brother Michael Hall and sister-in-law, Ann Hall.  The memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, September 25, 2021 at Mahn Family Funeral Home-Rochester Chapel, 1624 37th Street NW.  Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, September 24 at Mahn Family Funeral Home-Rochester Chapel and one hour prior to the service on Saturday.  Ennichement will take place at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Preston.  Sharon requested that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN  38103.  Online condolences are welcome and may be shared at mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com.
