Thomas L. Comstock age 84 of Zumbrota died on Thursday, May 23, 2019 at the Mayo Clinic Health Systems - Rochester, St. Marys Campus. A memorial mass will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the Church of St. Michael in Pine Island with Father Randal Kasel celebrating the mass. Private family burial will be in St. Rose of Lima Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 from 5:30 - 7:30 PM at the Mahn Family Funeral Home - Larson Chapel in Zumbrota and on Thursday for one hour prior to the mass at the church.
Thomas Lloyd Comstock was born on June 17, 1934 in St. Paul, MN to Robley and Frances (O'Kane) Comstock. Tom grew up in rural Wanamingo, attended country school and graduated from Wanamingo High School in 1952. On April 14, 1957 he entered the U.S. Army Reserve. On September 2, 1961 he married Ruth Marie Morrissey at Immaculate Conception Church in Faribault. They made their home in rural Wanamingo and together they farmed until their retirement. In 2006, they moved to Zumbrota. Tom enjoyed talking farming with friends and family. Tom also was active in helping restore St. Rose of Lima Catholic Cemetery and was currently serving as President of the cemetery board. Over the years, Tom was also a 4-H Ambassador, served on the Goodhue County Fair Board and was a member of MN Food and Chemical Association, Lions Club, and MN and National Tractor Puller Associations.
Thomas is survived by his children, Mark (Valerie) Comstock of West Concord, Linda (Todd) Broin of Sioux Falls, SD and Mike (Lisa) Comstock of White Bear Lake; grandchildren, Hannah, Quinn, Lucas, Jared, Jessica, Tommy and Emma; great grandchildren, Riley and Carter and many nieces and nephews.
Thomas was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth on March 20, 2019; parents, Robley and Frances and one brother, Paul.
Memorials are preferred to the St. Rose of Lima Cemetery Fund.
