Vickie Lynn Shell

Vickie Lynn Shell, 66, of Red Wing, died Saturday, October 9, 2021 at her home with her family by her side. She was born January 24, 1955 in Red Wing to Donald John and Joyce Lucille (Bach) Erickson. She was the first of four children. She graduated from Red Wing Central High School in 1973 and she married David Shell on February 23, 1981. Vickie worked at the Red Wing Shoe for two years. She later lived in North Carolina, Mankato and Brooklyn Park in the Twin Cities. In 1979 Vickie began working at the Seminary Memorial Home in Red Wing. Vickie was a housekeeper there for 34 years. Vickie retired in August 2013 due to poor health. She battled Scleroderma for more than 25 years. She was also a lung cancer survivor. She was diagnosed January 23, 2018, the day before her 63 birthday.
Vickie loved animals, nature, camping, hiking and reading. Most of all she loved being a grandmother to her three grandsons.

She is survived by her husband, David of Red Wing; two daughters, Heather Shell of Red Wing and Nicole (Scott) Shell-MacGlashin of Red Wing; 3 grandsons, Fenix, Noah, and Kamden; two sisters, Julie Soine of Red Wing and Tammie (David) Stephani of Aitkin; and one brother, David (Mary) Erickson of Red Wing.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral service will be 1p.m., Friday October 15, 2021 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel with Debby Bradley officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial at St. John’s Cemetery. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com
