Co-Owner/President
David and his four children, Elliot, Madeleine, Chrisjon and Sophia live in Lake City, Minnesota, where he oversees the Anderson-Peterson-Mahn Chapel. David attended mortuary school at Worsham College of Mortuary Science. Since 1991, David has worked in the area. In addition to Lake City Chapel, he can also be found at any of our other chapels.

Joe Mahn joined the family business in 2005, after graduating from the University of Minnesota Duluth with a degree in Business and from the University of MN, Twin Cities with a Mortuary Science degree. He and his wife, Amanda have one son, Jaxon and a daughter, Wallis. Joe is a member of First Lutheran Church and the Red Wing Elks #845. Joe serves on the MN Funeral Directors Association Board of Directors as the District 1 Representative for several years and is currently serving as the Board Secretary.
Former Owner
Originally from Plainview, Minnesota, John Mahn graduated from the University of Minnesota Mortuary Science Program in 1982. After graduating he worked at the Bodelson Funeral Home in Red Wing and in 1986 bought the business. John and his wife Betsy live in Red Wing, Minnesota. John has three children, Holly, Joe and Megan and seven grandchildren.

Todd Otteson, manager at the Bodelson-Mahn Chapel has lived in the Red Wing since November 1993. He was a 1988 graduate of the University of Minnesota Mortuary Science Program. Originally from Paynesville, Minnesota, Todd and his wife Patty, teacher at Twin Bluff Middle School, have two daughters, Amy and Emily. He is a member of United Lutheran Church, past President of the United Lutheran Church Congregation, and a past president and secretary of the Red Wing Lions Club.

Amanda "Mandy" (Lohmann) Mahn, a native of Red Wing, has been working for the Mahn Family Funeral Homes since graduating from the University of Minnesota Mortuary Science program in 1998. She and her husband, Joe live in Red Wing. Mandy is a member of the Red Wing Rotary Club, having served as president in 2010, the Red Wing Elks Lodge and First Lutheran Church. She and her husband have one son, Jaxon and and daughter, Wallis.

Jason Haley is a graduate of the University of Minnesota, Mortuary Science program. He started working for the Mahn Family Funeral Homes on July 1, 2008.

Brianna Bowne began at the Bodelson-Mahn Chapel in March 2013 as an intern and received her funeral director's license in January 2014.

Chad has more than 25 years of experience in funeral service, and has resided in southern Minnesota since 1985. His wife, Christine, is a registered dental hygienist. Chad enjoys traveling, creative writing and golfing with his wife. The Sietsemas have two sons, Benjamin and Phillip and they are members of Evangel United Methodist Church in Rochester. Chad joined the Mahn Family Funeral Home in April 2008.

Chad Anderson is a full-time funeral director and has been with Mahn Family Funeral Homes since 2015. He resides in Rochester and primarily works out of our Rochester, Pine Island, and Zumbrota locations.

Brooke has been employed with the Mahn Family Funeral Homes since 2017. She is a 2015 graduate of Goodhue High School. In June of 2020 She graduated from the University of Minnesota's Mortuary Science Program, and began working full time at Mahn Family Funeral Home

Kelly J. Kelly received her BA from Ohio Northern University
and graduated from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science in 1997. She has
been serving families for 25 years. Kelly and her husband, Garren Kelly, DVM,
reside in Mantorville, MN and have two sons, Kyler and Kanan. Kelly is a member
of the National Funeral Directors Association, served two years as the
President of the Minnesota Funeral Directors Association, and currently serves
as the Past President. Kelly is a member of Community Celebration Church. In her free time she enjoys spending time with
her family at the lake, playing golf or singing as part of an acoustic group.
Retired Funeral Director
Randy is a Rochester native and attended the University of Minnesota. Formerly with the Vine Funeral Home, he is a fourth generation funeral director and has served the Rochester area for over 20 years. Randy and his wife Roanna have two children, Marissa and Ajay.

Jason is currently a student at Des Moines Area Community College, where he is studying Mortuary Science. He also assists at the Rochester Chapel where he is learning more everyday.

Cindy grew up in the Rochester area and spent 35 years as a retail buyer for family owned businesses throughout the mid-west and southwest. She then began working as an Advanced Funeral Planner for a family owned funeral home in Chattanooga. In April of 2015 she began working as an Advanced Funeral Planner with Mahn Family Funeral Home and most recently has become the office manager.

Paul joined Mahn Family Funeral Home in December 2015. He grew up in Pine Island and has lived in Red Wing for more than 50 years, retiring as an agency owner of Farmers Insurance after forty three years in the business. He and his wife Susan have a total of five children, eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, Paul is a member and past president of Noontime Kiwanis. He also is a member of First United Methodist Church where he has held many leadership positions, as well as currently serving on the executive committee, singing in the choir and heading the men's cooking team. He likes meeting friends for coffee, going to the Y, playing a little golf and taking care of his yard.

Beth works primarily out of our Zumbrota and Pine Island locations as a visitation assistant.

Jack has been a funeral assistant for over 20 years. First, for the Johnson Funeral Home in Red Wing and since 1990 with the Mahn Family Funeral Home. A graduate of Central High School in Red Wing, he has resided in Red Wing his entire life. He served as a fulltime firefighter with the Red Wing Fire Department for 31 years, retiring in 1991. He continues to serve on the Relief Association Board of the fire department. His wife is Carmen Heck. They have three children, Mark, Jackie, and Brett and four grandsons. He has been active with the Leo C. Peterson American Legion Post and is a member of the Church of St. Joseph and the Red Wing Charter Commission. He enjoys fishing and taking his daily walks.

Keith was born in Featherstone Township, Goodhue County and graduated from Goodhue High School. He is married to Carol Siewert and in 1969 they purchased the family farm until 1997 when they moved to Goodhue. Keith is an auctioneer and also worked for Hay Creek Mutual Insurance in Goodhue for a number of years. He has been a funeral assistant for the Mahn Family Funeral Home since January 1999.

Sonny started with Mahn Family Funeral Homes in January of 2015. He was born in Northfield and grew up in Goodhue County. He graduated from Zumbrota High School and served six years in the Minnesota National Guard. He is married to Karen and they have three daughters and two grandsons. He is a member of St. John's Lutheran Church where he serves as an usher. For 34 years he was employed with UPS. He enjoys the outdoors, biking, walking as well as caring for his home, yard and garden, He is a member of the Leo C. Peterson American Legion and a local car club, participating in parades and car shows.

Karen grew up on a small farm south of Pine Island. After attending college in Rochester and Mankato she graduated from the University of Minnesota in St. Paul. She moved to Red Wing in 1973. She and her husband, Sonny, have three daughters, Ann, Jane and Lora and three grandsons. She enjoys reading, hiking, cooking and spending time with family and friends, Karen joined the Mahn Family Funeral Homes in March 2017.

Brad and his wife Sheri were married in 1979, and they have lived in Rochester since 1983. They have three children; Chad, born in 1980, Kristina born in 1982 and Alyssa born in 1989. Brad worked at Morton Buildings, Inc, for 33 years., and he helps people with their remembrances at Bertrand Memorials. Brad and Sheri enjoy their first grandson, Jubei, born in 2005. Brad also enjoys camping and hospice singing with the Prairie Heart Singers. Brad assists at the Rochester, Pine Island and Zumbrota Chapels and has been with the funeral home since February 2010.

Heidi was born and raised in Red Wing, and has four older brothers. She was hired with the Mahn Family Funeral Home in January of 2013 and works primarily in Red Wing and finds it a privilege to work with and help the families we serve. She and her dog, Weezie, love going walks, especially at the local A.P. Anderson Park.

Bonnie, a Red Wing resident, began with the Mahn Family Funeral Homes in 2017 and has been working visitations at our Red Wing location.

Marc joined the Mahn Family Funeral Home in January of 2010. He was born in Arcadia, WI (but not a Packer fan). He moved to Red Wing in 1963. After high school graduation he served in the US Air Force for 5 1/2 years. He also worked for the FAA and the USPS, retiring in January 2010. Marc and his wife Ann have two children, Tony and Kelly (Ross) and two grandsons. Marc enjoys fishing and trips to the boundry waters. Also, spending time with Ann and family.

Greg Schmitt, manager of the Larson Chapel in Zumbrota has worked for the Mahn Family since 1997. Greg has one daughter, Kersten. A native of Mazeppa, Minnesota, he attended the University of Minnesota and received his mortuary science degree in 1987.
In Memoriam
Merle moved in 1992 to Lake City and started working full time for Anderson-Peterson Chapel in Lake City in 1994 until 2008. She is the mother of John and David Mahn. Merle died November 7, 2015.

Marlys is a funeral home assistant at the Anderson-Peterson Chapel in Lake City. Marlys was married to Harvey Gerken and he died in 1985. She has three children and five grandchildren. She is a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Lake City where she is group leader on the funeral receptions. She is also a member of the VFW Auxiliary 8729 as treasurer and volunteers at the Lake City Nursing Home. She enjoys playing cards and traveling.

Shirley began working at the Larson Chapel in Zumbrota in June of 2000. She and her husband, Chuck live in Wanamingo. They have two children, Melissa and Matthew and four grandchildren, Kaleigh, Noah, Emilee and Jared.

Barbara has been the secretary at the Mahler Chapel in Pine Island since 1998. She and her husband, Reverend Terje live in Pine Island and have two children, Matthew and Katie and two grandsons, Leif and Bjorn and one granddaughter, Tova.

Ruth has been a Funeral Assistant with Mahn Family Funeral Home, Larson Chapel in Zumbrota, since December of 1998, after retiring from her position as social worker at the Zumbrota Nursing Home. Ruth is a native of Minneapolis, graduating from Washburn High School prior to attending St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN. After graduating from St. Olaf, Ruth was married to Paul Reppe (also an Ole), now a retired Lutheran pastor. Together they have four children, eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
