M. Keith Larson

M. Keith Larson, 80, of Red Wing, died Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at Mayo Clinic Hospital, St. Marys Campus surrounded by his family.  He was born April 29, 1943, in Madison, MN, to Kinley and Alice Larson. He graduated from Bellingham High School and enlisted in the US Army, serving until he was honorably discharged.  On November 5, 1966, he married Joan Larson. They moved to Red Wing in 1970, where he was employed with NSP for over 34 years as a maintenance supervisor.  He was a member of First Lutheran Church, Red Wing Hockey Association, the IBEW, and RW Jaycees. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, antiquing, going to auctions, coaching and supporting his kids at their sporting events.

He is survived by his wife, Joan Larson; son, Kevin (Lori) Larson; daughter, Maren (Matt) Schneider and 3 grandsons, Nathan, Adam and Micah.  He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Nyland and Claude Larson and a sister, Phyllis Spence.

Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2023 at First Lutheran Church with Rev. Mike Zaske officiating.  Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 2, 2023 at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and for one hour prior to the service at the church.  Memorials are preferred to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or the church.  Online condolences may be left for the family at www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com
